The morn arrived with Sun! Thanks for the prayers!! Chris has been attacked by an evil bug of some sort and is struggling to get up off the mat. We’ll simply pour him full of drugs and carry on. The trains run on time and we will be on board. Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi await us and we cannot keep them on hold. Duane does the Roman Quick Step to Rome Termini (Train Station) checking behind every few minutes to insure his loyal followers are, in fact, following. . . . So far so good. And then, without any warning, he looks behind and NO ONE is there!! By this time he is deep inside the train station surrounded by 10,000 eager and sweaty travelers all scrambling to get on their train. It would seem as though Duane’s loyal followers have simply disappeared. (Poof!) Now What? Duane waits. . . . No one shows up. Perhaps there truly has been an invasion and Paula, Betty and Chris have been abducted by aliens. Duane Waits. . . . . No one shows up! Eventually, he figures out that an alien abduction is probably unlikely and he’d better go back and find them before the train arrives. After all, Paula has the tickets. There they are, exactly where Duane stopped looking behind him. Paula seems upset? ? ? Just in time our train and track are announced and our gallant team races to the 9th car in the train (Most of the way down the track) just in the nick of time to get on board and begin our daily ride to “The Next Town.” The train to Naples is FAST. . . . 1 hour and 10 minutes and we’ll be there! Today involves a plethora of travel . . . . Hike, train, small hike, dinky train, small bus, more hiking. . . . HOTEL. The reward for all of this is to sit on the magnificent terrace of the Hotel California in Positano and gaze out over the Med. It just doesn’t get better than this! Really! Chris can now take a nap!
I hope that Chris napped on the trains!
