It was supposed to be the day of all days. . . . Versailles!!!. . . . . And according to plan it all started out perfectly. Then the Martin-Roggow team came face-to-face with French efficiency! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! The French aren't efficient. They are passionate. They are Philosophical. They are great in the kitchen (and perhaps in the bedroom), but in running a major attraction? Not so much. The Hamilton girls give them an "F." Versailles just has tooooooo many people trying to visit and to little control over those people!! Yes, it is still huge, magnificent, grandious and out of this world "Over the top," but when one mixes in thousands and thousands and thousands of tourists it instantly becomes, "No Fun!!". . . . The highlight of the "Versailles Trip" was lunch. Somewhere around Marie Antoinette's private palace we find a guy in the street making baked potatoes with extraordinaryly wonderful toppings. (Chili, Curry, etx.) We Dine!! Who knew that baked potatoes could become a business opportunity? ? ? ? After lunch we evaluate our options and head for the exits!! We come home. Just when Chris was getting the hang of it we are "Done." Tomorrow Chris and Betty head back to "The "Villages" and Duane and Paula head to the "South of France."
