What Duane saw:  Up at 0700 to check out the early morning activities in Siena.  It seems as though Sienese sleep late on Saturday! The Italians are some cold blooded people (In a good way). The Italians must simply love “Looking Good” over comfort (Duh!). most show up on a bright, warm, sunny  day dressed up for a blizzard (No, Really) long pants, (Always) shirt, heavy sweater, heavy jacket or down coat, stylish scarf and a hat, cap or bonnet. Duane wears shorts, T-Shirt and a smile. I have NO idea what this means. They are hanging out their “Contrada” flags this morning and it looks like a day of celebration! The Italians do love to celebrate and they know how to do it. We, on the other hand, must go to Florence this morning. Dang! No Palio for us! Today we will bus it to Florence, the heart of Renaissance Italy, and all of the best art in the world. Chris can’t wait!! We will see “David,” the Duomo and the Uffizi. . . . . Well, maybe not, but we’ll see all the great stuff on Ponte Vecchio!! Have a great weekend!
